British Virgin Islands
The beautiful British Virgin Islands are part of a volcanic archipelago in the Caribbean. The islands are a perfect setting for a Caribbean honeymoon or a romantic get-away. The four (4) main islands and many smaller ones, it’s known for its reef-lined beaches and as a yachting destination. The strikingly beautiful islands offer a secluded romantic atmosphere with bright turquoise water and white sandy beaches. The islands offer a host of things to do ranging from premier sailing, tours and cruises. Many people choose to sail to the southern islands’ popular dive sites like the RMS Rhone. BVI beaches are excellent, especially the shore of Anegada and Cane Garden Bay or Smuggler’s Cove on Tortola.
When to go: The best time to visit the British Virgin Islands is from September to November, after the worst threat of hurricane season and before the crushing crowds of the winter holidays. Plus fall room rates on these super expensive islands are the lowest you’ll find all year. If you are into diving than you should plan a trip for winter or spring – the summer is the absolute worst time for visibility underwater – and sailors should try to visit in March, during the BVI Spring Regatta.
